ASUU STRIKE IS POLITICALLY INFLUENCED! -

I thought the worst have come to an end after the six month strike embaked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities in 2004. until it happened again and again in the following years.
2013 gave hope to so many final year students as this was supposed to be their graduation year, only to see their hopes dashed by the face off between the federal Government led by Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan and the Academic Staff Union of Universities yet again.

This industrial action is what? eleven weeks old and nothing is being done to re-ignite the hopes of the graduating students whose years in the university has been increased by a year due to no fault of theirs but the ASUU and FG, but seriously, i dont even know who to blame? Should i blame the FG, they will say they are working for the best interest of the Nation at large... Should i blame ASUU they'l claim to be fighting for the rights of Nigerian students and the deteriorating standard of education in Nigeria. My question is this, are the ASUU just identifying the fact that education standard in Nigeria has fallen? If yes, this fall in standard didnt happen overnight, so why try to build it overnight? I'm not being insensitive to the fallen standard, i only made a statement of fact.

This strike UNFORTUNATELY co-incides with the time some political parties were clamouring for a change, now, should i call that a coincidence? This brings me to the main reason of writing this little piece.

IS ASUU STRIKE POLITICALLY INCLINED?
I am unsure about this  but I think it is a possibility and i hope its not. I have my reasons for saying this, my thesis statements are as follows:
1. If the tenure of this present government is termed as a failure in academic fronts, its a plus for the opposition parties that will be used as campaign to win over Nigerian students.

2. The house of assembly or Senate may be forced to place a vote of NO CONFIDNCE in the president which if not well handles can lead to impeachment.

3. The ruling party is in crisis, this is a good distraction for the President

4. The FG claimed at a point during the negotiation process that the ASUU has been infiltrated by the opposition party, could this be true?

These amongst others are my reasons for propounding this STATEMENT, it may be true, it may be false, this is yet to be seen.

this is my own point of view and i just exercized my freedom of speech rights.
