CHILD NOT BRIDE... BRIDE NO CHILD

Ever heard of the word little-bride? I used to think it the beautiful little girl that's made to dress like the bride on a wedding day, but Senator Yerima and his other 34 cohorts has 'enlightened' me better, that there's actually a literal meaning to the word!
How else can the legalisation of child marriage be explained? Does this law now mean that a little girl of 5, can be given out in marriage? Is this what we elected our law-makers to do at the National Assembly? Why don't we have citizens below the age of 18 vote in elections in Nigeria? Because it's felt that below that a child below that age is not matured enough to make rational decisions? So how did it suddenly become reasonable for a girl child below that matured age bracket to make a decision on who to marry? I need somebody to wake me up from this dream.
If we don't stop this obnoxious law, if we don't Generations after us would not forgive us, little girls that would be raped, abused and molested all in the name of child-marriage would not forgive us.
We all, beyond our religious, political and social prejudice need to SAY NO to child-marriage in Nigeria.
It is evil, it is criminal!!!

ADD ON,
It will be noted that Nigerians from all works of life have taken to various ways of showing their disgust over this law, most people taking to social media most especially Facebook, Twitter and BBM. We bring to you some of the common quotes with the hashtag #childnotbride:

'Give her a PEN not a PENIS, ask for her books not her BOOBS, pay her school fees, not her bride price, give her EDUCATION not EJACULATION'

Omotola Jalaade Ekehinde, popular Nigerian actress has also spoken against child abuse at the just concluded MBGN 2013.

Let's wait patiently and hope as Nigerians across the globe begin to pour out their minds. Don't forget to put the hashtag #childnotbride when you comment on the issue at hand.

SHOCKING: NASA FINDS MESSAGE FROM GOD ON MARS!

NASA announced today that its Curiosity Rover has found
an unambiguous message from God written on tablets in
a Martian cave.
According to an official press release two giant stone
slabs the size of small elephants were located deep inside
a cavern abutting Aeolis Mons, a large mountain.
Upon one tablet is a copy of the Ten Commandments and
the text of John 3:16 written in 12 languages - including
English, Spanish, Chinese, Basque and Hebrew. On the
other tablet is a simple message in English reading "I am
real."
According to top scientists who have studied the
discovery extensively, these findings may have definitively
established Christianity as the one true religion.
"This is amazing," says Syms Covington, an Australian
researcher working for NASA's Mars Exploration Program.
"We went into the cave looking for water, and we found
proof of God's existence instead.
"I mean how else did those tablets get there? I can tell you
one thing: there's not a single atheist inside NASA's
control room now. What we saw was jaw-dropping."
Genesis 1:1
NASA's Curiosity rover arrived on Mars in August of last
year with a mission to explore the Martian climate and
geology for signs for habitability.
Thus far the mission has been a success, with the
discovery of an ancient seabed and chemicals needed for
life suggesting that Mars was once suitable for life.
However the tablets, both of which are signed "Peace and
Love - Yahweh," represent the rover's most significant
find to date, and is perhaps the most important scientific
event in history.
"When people find out about this, they will demand
change in our society," explains a political scientist at
Georgetown University. "Democracy will have to give way
to theocracy. We're gonna have to build more churches
and reintroduce prayer into schools. Abortion is defiantly
going to be illegal within a few months."
Despite its potential significance, Covington fears that the
Earth-shattering discovery may not make the impact it
should.
"Unfortunately, the mainstream media is so anti-
Christian, they might not even pick up this story," he
explains. "But God is real. We have proof. And everyone
deserves to hear the truth."

ASUU'S STRIKE NOT JUSTIFIED- Fasanmi Kayde (EKSU)

In this country, lecturing remains one of the most lucrative jobs, aside from the fact that most lecturers teach in other schools, thereby neglecting their duty in
their main institution. I can't even remember the last time a Nigerian professor carried out a successful
research.
The constant clamour for wage increment and 70 years retirement age for professors lack moral justification and a reflection of greed and insensitivity to the plight of the younger generation.
I cannot understand the justification for 70 years
retirement, when even at 65 years, many of them are
managing one health condition or another. Yet, we are crying about unemployment among qualified
unemployed youths in the country.
When last did the Academic Staff Union of Universities members truly embark on a strike due to
the poor infrastructure in the universities, poor funding among others? Instead, they will rather use all that as a cover-up to gain public sympathy to actualise their unending demand for more pay.
Once the demand for salary is met, they forget other issues. Yet, these are the same people that enjoyed free education and scholarships during the early days
of the nation. The zeal with which lecturers fight for their selfish interest, if that same zeal is used to pursue the development of the educational sector, I am sure by
now our institutions would be competing with the best in the world.
This, unfortunately, is not the case because of incessant strikes by the lecturers. The cumulative effect of all this is that Nigerian universities yearly produce half- baked and unemployable graduates.

TRIAL OF CYNTHIA OSOKOGU MURDERERS' STALLED

DO YOU REMEMBER THE STORY OR THE GRUESOM MURDER OF CYNTHIA? THAT BEAUTIFUL LADY WHO WAS KILLED BY SOME GUYS SHE MET THROUGH FACEBOOK? Well, I personally believe that the case should have ended but we have not heard the last of it as the case stalled on July 5th.

Friday, July 5,2013 The abscense of the trial judge, Olabisi Akinlade, stalled the trial of Cynthia Osokogu's alleged murderers. Mrs Akinlade was "indisposed," according to the court registrar's words.
The case was adjourned until September 20 for a 'trial-within- trial'.
This blog reminds that the late 24-year-old Ms. Osokogu 24 was drugged and subsequently murdered in a hotel room in July 2012 in Festac, Lagos. The suspects, Okwumo Nwabufor and Olisaeloka Ezike, are charged with conspiracy to commit murder, murder itself, and felony.
A post-mortem examination has shown that the deceased died from asphyxia (absence of oxygen supply to the body). Seven witnesses have testified in the ongoing trial.
Several others also stand trial for being involved in the events that led to tragedy. A pharmacist Osita Orji, who sold the drug to the alleged murderers, faces charges for "reckless and negligent act". Nonso Ezike is charged with possession of stolen property for pawning the deceased's Blackberry phone.
Messrs Nwabufor and Olisaeloka allegedly gave confessional statements, and Friday's 'trial-within-trial' was to "determine whether the statement was made voluntarily," according to Victor Opara, counsel to Mr. Nwabufor.
"The police say they had obtained a confessional statement from both the first and second defendants [Mr. Nwabufor and Olisaeloka respectively]," Mr. Opara said. "The trial-within-trial would determine whether the statement was made voluntarily. If the court comes to a conclusion that it was made under duress, it would not be admitted. The larger trial is still on." (This is a shocking turn of events, over a year this case is still in court, in my view it should have been concluded) While Mr. Orji, the pharmacist, was granted bail by the court and had been attending from home, other defendants arrived from the Kirikiri Prison. When it was time to go back to the
jail, Mr. Nwabufor limped out of the court, looking physically unwell (was he beaten by the police? If yes, I think the police force should be sued by his family).
The shocking and revealing details of the murder were revealed earlier by the police investigative officer with Area E, Festac Town. Mr. Edo, a police Inspector, stated that Ms. Osokogu was chained and strangled to death by her killers.
During the interrogation, "Nwabufor confronted Ezike at the station, saying
'Why did you bring me to the police to arrest me? Why didn't you tell them you strangled the deceased to death?'" Mr. Edo narrated during his testimony.
Mr. Nwabufor, as Edo further stated, had confessed to the police that his accomplice Mr. Olisaeloka placed Ms. Osokogu's international passport on her chest and took her photograph with his blackberry phone
when she was already dead.
The police recovered some property of the deceased at Mr. Olisaeloka's home, which were tendered before the court: two international passports belonging to Ms. Osokogu, her driver's licence, a vibrator, jewelries, a pair of shoes, and two bags; also, a laptop, two mobile phones, and a pair of sunglasses.

Yeast infection (candidisis)

Well, Both men and women are affected by yeast problems. A yeast infection is not considered a sexually transmitted infection. In rare cases, a yeast infection can be spread through vaginal intercourse among partners who have unprotected sex, but the risk is low. Like any other vaginal infection, they should be
treated immediately, and if you are sexually active and your partner is having symptoms, he or she should also seek treatment. In any case, sex should only resume once symptoms disappear.
Women may experience: Vaginal itching .Burning while urinating. Pain when you pass urine . Pain during intercourse .Swollen or red vulva .Thick, white discharge. Vaginal bleeding or spotting between periods. In particular, bleeding after you have sex. Pain
or discomfort in the lower abdomen (pelvic area), especially when you have sex.
If symptoms do occur in men, they may include: Painful swelling on the tip of the penis .Itching. Red dots on the tip of the penis.
Discharge from the end of your penis. Pain or discomfort at the end of your penis. Dry peeling skin .Burning during urination.
HOW DO I PREVENT ANOTHER INFECTION?
A well-balanced diet can be the best preventative medicine. Wear loose dry clothing and avoid
wearing wet clothing for extended periods of time. Women can also take hygienic precautions to decrease the likelihood of developing an infection: Keep your genitals clean and dry, and rinse well after using soap. Avoid vaginal douching after sex.
Never put anything in your vagina after it has been in your anus. After using the washroom, wipe from front to back. Avoid vaginal deodorants and perfume products such as soaps that can irritate the vagina. Wear underwear made of cotton instead of synthetic fabrics.
