YOUR LEADERS ARE NOT PLANNING FOR YOU- Sen Babafemi Ojudu

Now, before I start this story about how a Nigerian Senator representing the Ado Ekiti Senatorial district today in Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti, at an event organized by RISE, the event tagged "Nigeria beyond Oil" which is aimed at STRENGHTENING YOUTH ENTREPRENEURSHIP IN THE NEXT MOST PRODUCTIVE SECTORS 'Entertainment, Agriculture and Technology' (EAT), I will like you to know I was physically present at this event and this is not a HEAR SAY.

"NOBODY IS PREPARING FOR YOUR FUTURE" were the words that came from Senator Babafemi Ojudu while delivering a speech at the event. This statement was met by ironic cheers from the students present at the event. The senator said "don't you want to hear the truth?" And the studnets were attentive once more.

He also pointed to some unforgetable failure of Nigeria in most fields and was applauded for speaking the truth. However the same students were quick to criticize the senators 'intentional' trick of not answering a question about the imigration test which claimed some lives after the senator had earlier criticized the mode in which the tests were conducted, saying "stadium is meant for playing football, and not for conducting employment test exercises". The question avoided by senator Babatunde Ojudu goes thus " as a senator, what have you been able to do about the immigration scandal?" Which he, INTENTIONALLY (I stress) ignored.

It must be noted that he also ignored the request for help from a student.

Senator Babatunde Ojudu was asked further questions about the cause of the downnfall and backwardness of Nigeria, he was quick to pass the blame on the past military regime and added that he was unjustly put behind bars for nine months by the late Gen Sani Abacha (which I believe is self justification/appraisal).

Senator Babatunde stated that the future is in the hands of youths, and that we have to take it by force, referring to a Governors statement "you have to literarily STONE us, or we will continue stealing your money"

Please take note that capitalized the word "STONE" in the statement above, I think we have to STONE them...

But not LITERARILY as they said, I believe in DIPLOMACY, let us make others aware of this development by starting a fight on social network with the hashtag #saveNigeria.

FURTHER DETAILS ABOUT THE RISE EVENT WILL BE BROUGHT TO YOU SHORTLY, I JUST FELT THE NEED TO LET YOU KNOW THIS IMPORTANT DEVELOPMENT.

#saveNigeria

MY REACTION TO THE RANTING OF SOME ARTISTES TO GET PAID BY BLOGGERS

When any material is released or produces, a copyright instruction which prohibits unauthorized reproduction, copying or lending and any other act that negates the copyright laws comes with such material.

Hence, any act wherein a Blogger puts his signature as an undertone in any such material should be highly prohibited, except unless permission is granted by the original owner (copyright owner) of such material.

Please note that the term 'MATERIAL' In this reaction refers to album, album arts, track or track art except otherwise stated.

In another front, Upcoming artistes pay bloggers to help publicize their materials, they do this with the aim of gaining more popularity. The ability of bloggers to promote the good deeds or bad deeds of celebres is yet to be seen to the fullest in Nigeria, although its a possibility provided bloggers have a cooperative mind. Bloggers more often than not inscribe their signature on such materials that come from upcoming artistes, well, that ofcourse depending on whatever agreement they (the upcoming artiste) have with the blogger if there be any.

Bloggers/Internet marketers have a way of 'TRENDING' some materials and even news. Let's do a little MATH, for instance, 50 blogers share a link for a music probably by 2face (my favourite) and use the hashTag #danceInTheRain. Let each of the 50 bloggers have 100,000 followers on twitter on the average, DO THE MATH of how many people will hear about it.
Now let that same tweet be retweeted by at least one out of their followers (that is 50 retweets on the average) let's assume those 50 people have about 20,000 followers on the average, PLEASE DO THE MATH!
Can you Imagine how many people will eventually get to hear about it?
Take note that I only used Twitter for this illustration, think about other social networks.

Don't even let me go too far, take for instance, the rumour about Psquare Breaking up and sharing assets. In less that 24hours, almost everybody had heard about it, one way or the other. Thanks to BC'S and RE-BC's, tweets and retweets, posts and shares...

If I as a Blogger pay an artiste for permission to blog about his material, do you therefore think I will be willing to release such for free? The aim of most Bloggers is Profit Making, which obviously, many have not been able to achieve... to state a fact.

      DEAR ARTISTE,
You want to get paid per download of your song? Please create a platform (website) and add the mastercard option for people to register before they can download, of course per download or even track... check your download counter at the end of the month, see if you reach 1,000...
The fact is most people will prefer to buy Pirated CD's at just 100 naira, burn it to their computer and then to their phones or even collect it through bluetooth from those who have gone through the process above or from the few who download.
Your music is basically for the youth, of whom 80percent have blackberries, android phones, window phones and even the smallest browsing phone and would prefer to download because they have subscribed and/or bought DATA from any of the mobile internet service providers.

Finally, Bloggers are doing a very great Job, making sure your music gets to the person using the smallest browsing phone... WE SHOULD GET PAID FOR THAT!

Yours,
Adebusoye Ademola.

Youth Protest Against Govenor Olusegun Mimiko of ondo state

Heavy rioting broke out today in Akure, capital of Ondo State at the popular Oba Market.
The venue of the protest is a stone throw from the palace of Deji of Akure kingdom .
The protesting youths said they are not happy over the refusal of the Labour Party (LP) government in the state led by Olusegun Mimiko denying them use of the"Democracy Park"for their yearly carnival.
The youths had gone on the media both print and broadcast to advertise about their yearly'2014 Carnival'.
Popular Fuji musician, Saheed Osupa and his band was expected to perform at the carnival but the State Governor, Olusegun Mimiko ordered security agencies in the state to disrupt the event.
The rampaging youths claimed that they had invited the Fuji musician, stationed him at a hotel with his band to play at the carnival today.
They claimed to have spent millions of naira on the carnival without support from the government.
One of the protesting youths told journalists that they had written a letter to the state government for permission to use the venue.
They had booked the'Democracy Park'close to Oja Oba Market along popular Oba Adesida road for the venue of the event but when the youths gathered at the"Democracy Park"they were barred by heavily armed security personnel stationed there by the governor.
A policeman was quoted saying that'They would shoot at anyone if the youths refused to leave the venue'.
After being driven from the"Democracy Park", the youths later converged at the Akure Town Hall also on Adesida Road for the carnival.
Surprisingly, security personnel led by the Assistant Commissioner of Police in the state, Edward Ajogun, chased the youths away from the second venue for the carnival.
The band members of the Fuji musician were seen hurriedly packing their musical instruments to avoid getting arrested.
One of the band members told SaharaReporters that not holding the carnival is a'great embarrassment'to the state because they had left Lagos for the show fully prepared to entertain the young people in the state capital.
During the riotous encounter with police, SaharaReporters noted that many of the youths were calling Governor Mimiko unprintable names accusing him of not been'youth friendly.'
All efforts by the Regent of Akure Kingdom, Adetutu Adesida to intervene in the matter did not yield any results.
Princess Adesida was said to have called government functionaries close to the palace to allow the youths hold their carnival but none seems to be forth coming and willing to listen.
Security agencies in the state claimed the carnival might be hijacked by hoodlums due to the challenges of insecurity currently facing the country mostly by  'Boko Haram'militants. But the organizers described that as a"lame excuse."
The protesters put barricades on the Oba Adesida road to prevent vehicular movement.
The protesting youths have also destroyed some government properties in the state capital.
Market Women and traders hurriedly closed down their shops and fled the scene of the rioting.
All banks in the capital city have also closed down their operations as customers were seen stranded at the front gates of the financial institutions.
An Army battalion from the 232 Army Barracks in Akure has been drafted to save the situations from degenerating.
The Soldiers were not also friendly has they were armed with guns checking peoples movement.
As at the time of these reports, heavily armed. anti-riot policemn are parading Akure streets and shooting sporadically into the air to scare the youths away.

Suprisingly, this is coming just three days after a peaceful protest was demonstrated at the Democracy park by the National Association of Nigerian Students where INEC was giving a 7-day ultimatum to conclude Ilaje/Ese-odo senatorial by-election.
